Over the past few months I have been hitting the streets, speaking to people all over London from Barnet to Bromley, from Ealing to the East End and the biggest issue that people raise is to do with the state of the economy.
Their livelihoods, homes and jobs are under threat from a problem that they had no part in creating and until we get the economy moving again, until we boost jobs and growth in London these problems will get worse.
I believe that with my experience and dedication I can make a difference, and for this reason I am standing for selection to be the Lib Dem candidate for the European elections in 2014.
My background is as a scientist where I worked in a number of European institutes before moving to London to take a role as a risk specialist. I would be one of the few Lib Dem MEPs with a scientific background and would aim to bring that to the fore ensuring the EU invests in biotech and green industry solutions. Using rigorous, evidence-based policy to set targets on everything from climate change to fishing quotas.
Throughout the campaign I aim to continue speaking to as many of you as I can. As an MEP I will be your representative in Europe and I want to hear from you. You can contact me by email, or talk to me on my Facebook page or Twitter. I also have an iPhone App to help you get in touch with me and find out what I am doing.
The EU has a wealth of institutions that can bring jobs and growth to London to build an economy for the future. I am the person who will make this happen and I ask for your support.
Please get in touch, I look forward to hearing your comments,
